Commemorate and Respect
Holy Week is the most sacred week in the liturgical year in Christianity.
For all Christian traditions it is a moveable observance. It is the annual
tribute of the passion of Christ, an event referring to the week of the
crucifixion (execution) and resurrection (rebirth) of Jesus in the Bible. The
Holy Week falls on April 5 through April 12 this year. That is why from
Wednesday to Monday, there was no class to pay respect to the Christ.
As the week is for the Christ, I spend my break through connecting with
him. I never went to go for a tour, I never went to the beach, but instead, I
stayed at home and started contemplating things. It is the week where I
reconnected with God and where I look back to the great things that he did.
About how he sacrificed his love for us, so I sacrificed my time for him. It
was an amazing week. It was full of clearance and gratitude.
So all in all, I spend my week as how it is supposed to be spended. I
commemorate Jesus' passion, death, and resurrection for it is the purpose of
the week. I gave my time and faith to him. It is a Holy week, after all.
